102nd Running of the Indianapolis 500
The Indy 500 event schedule kicks-off on May 11th. Pre-racing events include the Crown Royal Armed Forces Weekend, Miller Lite Carb Day, Firestone Legends Day, and Indy 500 Snake Pit. The Indy Speedway also plays host to a series of concerts, balls, and off-track experiences.
2018 IPL 500 Festival Parade
On May 26th, the eve of the Indy 500, an estimated 300,000 spectators will line the streets of downtown. As one of the nation’s premier annual parades, the IPL 500 Festival features celebrity appearances, costumed characters, spectacular floats, marching bands, and more
Starting just outside the American Legion Mall, the parade will head to Washington St., turn, then head back, ending near 10th St. Most of downtown will be closed to traffic. Hotel guests staying in downtown can avoid the hassle of finding and paying for parking.
