To help you get started, we’ve put together a short list highlighting some of the best July 4th events going on in Indianapolis this year.
The biggest fireworks show, Downtown Freedom Blast, can be seen from the Indiana War Memorial grounds late into the night. Fireworks will be launched from the Regions Bank Tower at 10 PM. You can tune your radio to B105.7, 97.1 Hank FM, or 93.1 WIBC for the official fireworks soundtrack.
Celebrate Independence Day with a live music performance by the Indianapolis Municipal Band, from 6-8 PM (weather permitting) as part of the Concerts on the Canal series. Bring a blanket and enjoy free admission for the grassy areas, or reserve a table for $30-$50 (reservations required). Please note that fireworks will not be visible from the concert location.
Bring the whole family down to the former home of Benjamin Harrison, America’s Hoosier President, for a fun-filled day of vintage games like hoops and graces or croquet, arts & crafts projects for kids, and historic tours of the home (complete with historic enactors).
Watch the fireworks sparkle from the waterways while enjoying a gorgeous view of the city. During the day, White River State Park offers families a variety of fun activities, including the Dogs: Faithful and True exhibit, art making and live music at the Eiteljorg Museum and the Butterfly Kaleidoscope experience at the Hilbert Conservatory.
Enjoy incredible music for a great cause at the 5th Annual INDYpendence Day Concert for Cancer. This two-day music festival features international and local acts including 311, New Politics, and The Skints, along with fireworks, food trucks, games, giveaways, vendors, and more.
