Three Days in Indy

Explore the best of downtown Indy. Whether you have an interest in arts and music, a passion for culture and history, or crave a taste for local fare, our itinerary offers something for every age and interest.

Your Guide to Top Indy Restaurants and Attractions

Start your day with breakfast at Stardust Terrace Cafe. The café is located inside the Indiana Historical Society and along downtown’s Central Canal.

Relax with your morning coffee and admire the Victorian-inspired street scene before your Indiana Experience at the Indiana History Center. The exhibit features the latest technology, taking you back in time on a virtual journey through the state’s storied past.

Head to Conner’s Kitchen + Bar for delicious Midwestern cuisine. The restaurant offers sidewalk seating with tableside fire pits.

After lunch, take a short walk to Eiteljorg Museum. The institution offers an array of engaging, family-friendly exhibits and features contemporary Native art—a collection which has been ranked among the finest of its kind in the world.

Before heading out, fuel up with coffee and breakfast from Loaf + Vine Market. The market is a one stop shop for all the snacks you’ll need as you venture out for the day.

Then, explore the world’s foremost drum and percussion museum Rhythm! Discovery Center. Through their interactive exhibits, artifacts, and hands-on percussion instruments you and your family will have a blast with notes of learning all along the way.

For a breathtaking view of the Indy skyline, head to the famed Soldiers and Sailors Monument at Monument Circle. Ride the elevator or climb 331 steps to the Observation Level, where, from 275 feet up, visitors can admire 360-degree views of downtown and beyond.

Enjoy lunch at the beloved Café Patachou. A local institution since 1989, the café’s Washington Street location is just a short walk away, across from the State Capitol Building.

Experience the adrenaline of indoor racing at Speedway Indoor Karting. Located just blocks from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, this world-class facility provides adults and kids with the opportunity to experience the thrill of racing on a European-style, multi-level road course.

A delectable meal is not far away. A full-service restaurant and bar, 1911 Grill, is located at this family-friendly entertainment destination. There are also four mini bowling lanes and a game room.

Wrap up your day with a show at the historic Old National Centre, downtown Indy’s oldest performing arts stage. The center’s Murat Theatre sets the perfect stage for Broadway performances, comedy events, concerts, and popular live shows like Dancing with the Stars.
