Take a gondola ride on the Downtown Canal Walk and pretend you are temporarily vacationing in Venice, Italy. The Old World Gondoliers are dressed the part and will even serenade you as you blissfully glide through the water. This is definitely one of most popular summer activities in Indianapolis.
Catch one of Indy’s famous summer concerts. No summer getaway in downtown Indy is complete without enjoying some of the amazing outdoor concerts that happen each year. Check out The Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park website and the Indiana Historical Society’s Concerts on the Canal website for line-ups, dates and more.
Explore the historic Indianapolis City Market, with artisan crafts, ethnic food, a microbrewery, and catacombs underneath. Tours are also available.
Get inspired at First Fridays. More than 25 art galleries take part in this monthly tradition, which encourages locals and visitors alike to go on a self-guided tour of the city’s diverse art venues.
